WORK Fiscal Management Training
Welcome to the web-based resource and training site for the Kansas Work Opportunities Reward Kansans (WORK) program. This site will provide you with the materials, resources and tools necessary to becoming an employer in the State of Kansas. Participating in, and successfully completing the fiscal manager training, will enable you to employ your own personal care attendants, and act as your own WORK Fiscal Manager.
As you make your way through the training modules you will learn about the necessary federal and state of Kansas responsibilities and fiscal obligations related to becoming an employer and employing household employees. This responsibility becomes a personal choice, and should be considered carefully. Understanding and implementing the information provided in this training can lead to a very productive and successful experience as an employer for your personal care attendants and your own Fiscal Manager! You will be able to have an agency act as your Fiscal Manager If you prefer not to assume the fiscal manager roles and responsibilities.
In order to become your own fiscal manager and pay your personal care attendants with funds provided through the WORK program, you must demonstrate your knowledge and understanding of your responsibilities and fiscal obligations as an employer. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding in implementing tax and employment laws is required by the WORK program.
This training is set-up so that as you learn information, you will immediately apply what you just learned by answering a question or questions related to the information. The information, once read, WILL provide you with the correct answer. This format is designed as a study guide to assist you in knowing where to look for information and how the information relates to you, the employer. You must successfully complete each test section before being allowed access to the next section of the training module.
